Arcofire supplies Kentec Electronics' Sigma XT+ and Sigma ZXT extinguishant control panels as the release-control layer for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) modules, containers and data-centre battery/UPS rooms - the same open, EN 12094-1 platform already used across Arcofire's wider extinguishant control panel range, configured for the repeatable pattern typical of BESS installations.

Why a standard panel matters for BESS Utility- and substation-scale battery storage is built from many identical modules or containers, each needing its own detection and release logic. Rather than a closed, single-vendor package, an open EN 12094-1 panel lets Arcofire pair the same release architecture - fed by K-Detect-iON off-gas detection - with whichever cylinders, valves and suppression agent the site calls for, and replicate it across an entire fleet.

Sigma ZXT is a single-area extinguishant control panel: three configurable detection zones, individually or in combination, trigger release, with dual extinguishant outputs that can be set up as common or as main/reserve, so a site can be returned to a protected state quickly after a discharge. A secure 1000-event log, USB configuration download and a dynamic colour LCD (white/red/yellow/turquoise by status) support commissioning and ongoing maintenance. For larger, multi-room sites such as data-centre UPS and battery halls, multiple ZXT panels are deployed and networked, one per protected area.

Matching the suppression agent to the site The panel itself is agent-agnostic - Arcofire matches the actual extinguishing media to what each site can support: • Water mist (VID Fire-Kill) - the primary choice wherever a water supply is available: fine mist cools the battery directly, slows the temperature rise that drives thermal runaway, and knocks down off-gas concentration, all with a fraction of a conventional sprinkler system's water use. • Condensed aerosol (GreenEx LiEFS®) - for compartments without a practical water supply, or where the installation calls for a self-contained, pipe-free system. GreenEx's LiEFS® aerosol technology is purpose-built and independently certified (Kiwa, BRL-K21045 Specific Certification Program 05, "Fire Protection of Lithium-ion batteries storage") for lithium-ion battery storage compartments, with a minimum 90-minute suppression window and automatic re-activation. • Gas suppression (FK-5-1-12, inert gas) - where the application calls for a clean, EN 15004/ISO 14520 gaseous system instead.

Standards Certified to EN 12094-1 (extinguishing control and delay devices) and built to EN 54-2/EN 54-4, matching the requirement applied in Latvia (LVS EN) for BESS release control. A UL 864 (10th Edition) listed variant of Sigma ZXT is also available, in Kentec's red UL-market enclosure, for BESS fleets that span EN and UL/FM jurisdictions.
