Arcofire designs, supplies the materials for, installs and hands over complete fire detection and alarm systems - the weak-current systems that detect a fire and raise the alarm across a building, whether working alone or as the trigger for a connected fire suppression system. We work with the world's leading detection equipment manufacturers for detectors, call points and control panels, and source cable and installation materials locally for cost-efficient project delivery.
Detection Technologies • Point smoke detectors - optical (light-scattering) or ionisation type, for general area coverage • Point heat detectors - fixed-temperature or rate-of-rise, for kitchens, plant rooms and other areas prone to smoke nuisance alarms • Flame detectors - optical (IR/UV/multi-spectrum) detectors for fast-developing fires in open or high-risk areas, including areas covered by gas or aerosol suppression systems • Aspirating smoke detection (ASD) - a sampling pipe network continuously draws air to a central, highly sensitive detector, for early warning in data centres, warehouses, cold stores and other spaces where point detectors are impractical or too slow • Video (VID) smoke and flame detection - camera-based analytics for very large or open spaces, tunnels and areas with high ceilings where traditional detectors are ineffective • Manual call points - break-glass or resettable call points at exits and escape routes • Sounders, beacons and voice alarm - audible and visual warning devices, including combined sounder-beacons and voice evacuation where required by the fire strategy
Control & Indicating Equipment Fire alarm control panels (conventional or analogue addressable) monitor every detector and call point on the system, indicate the location of an alarm, and interface with other building systems - suppression system releasing panels, ventilation shutdown, lift homing, access control and building management systems.
Cabling and Installation Detection and alarm circuits are wired with fire-resistant and standard control cable sourced locally to match each project's specification and local fire authority requirements, installed, tested and commissioned as a complete, certified system, with full documentation handed over on completion.
Standards Systems are designed to the EN 54 series (fire detection and fire alarm systems) - EN 54-2 (control and indicating equipment), EN 54-4 (power supply equipment), EN 54-5 (heat detectors), EN 54-7 (smoke detectors), EN 54-10 (flame detectors), EN 54-11 (manual call points), EN 54-12 (line type smoke detectors), EN 54-20 (aspirating smoke detection) and EN 54-25 (radio system components), and to EN 12845 / EN 14520 / EN 12094 where detection is the trigger for a connected suppression system.
