Fires in CNC machines are common and can occur in an instant, without warning, causing significant damage to the machine and spreading quickly through the shop floor. With CNC machines often operating unattended, a small spark from oil-based cutting fluid or a damaged tool can lead to devastating consequences. Reacton's system detects and automatically discharges a UL-approved suppression agent inside the cylinder to the seat of the fire, with no power requirements, protecting the asset 24/7/365.

APPLICATIONS AND RISK AREAS: • Oil-based cutting fluid ignition - creates a rapid-spreading fire that is very difficult to tackle • Broken and damaged cutting tools - increased damage to the machine • Static electricity build-up - dangerous, hard-to-tackle fires • Drop in coolant level - increases the chance of flammable materials overheating • Programming mistakes - increases the risk of operator injury

HOW THE REACTON SYSTEM WORKS: Reacton's UL-approved pneumatic detection tube bursts on contact with fire, activating the system. The extinguishing agent - ABC Dry Powder, BC Dry Powder or Reacton 1230 Clean Agent - is released through discharge hoses and nozzles designed for the machine's enclosed spaces. ABC/BC Dry Powder provides rapid knockdown, while Reacton 1230 is an environmentally friendly clean agent leaving no residue and requiring zero clean-up.

ADVANTAGES OF A REACTON SYSTEM: • Fully automatic - detects and activates without any external power source • Rapid detection and immediate agent delivery, typically in under 10 seconds • 24/7 protection with zero false alarms • Extremely low maintenance • 10-year service life, 3-year warranty on all parts • Compact and lightweight, simple to install • Suitable for both new-build (OEM) and retrofit installations

APPROVALS: • UL2166 Listed - world's first listing for DLP Clean Agent Technology, complementing the existing ILP listing • UL Listed - detection tube as a Heat-Automatic Fire Detector component (S36434)
