Electrical fires are incredibly challenging to predict. Once started, and if left to burn, their effects are devastating, and it is very difficult to identify the early signs of an electrical system failure - meaning the risk exposure to an electrical fire is typically greater than with other fire types. Reacton systems can be seamlessly integrated into building fire control systems, including any associated audible and visual alarm devices, and scale from small enclosures to large multi-zone cabinets.
APPLICATIONS AND RISK AREAS: • Wire fatigue - degraded insulation over time • Component fatigue - ageing relays, contactors and breakers • Overloaded circuits - excess current heats conductors • Incorrect installation - poor termination or wiring practice • Lack of maintenance - undetected faults accumulate
HOW THE REACTON SYSTEM WORKS: For small enclosures, Reacton's Direct system installs the detection tube near identified hazards inside the panel; when fire is detected the agent inside the cylinder discharges rapidly at the seat of the fire, directly through the burst point in the tube itself. For larger cabinets, the Indirect system uses the same detection tube to trigger a discharge network and nozzles, delivering the agent across a wide area in seconds. Both variants use a range of clean agents that are non-corrosive and completely non-conductive - safe for sensitive electronics.
ADVANTAGES OF A REACTON SYSTEM: • Fully automatic - detects and activates without any external power source • Rapid detection and immediate agent delivery, typically in under 10 seconds • 24/7 protection with zero false alarms • Extremely low maintenance • 10-year service life, 3-year warranty on all parts • Compact and lightweight, simple to install • Suitable for both new-build (OEM) and retrofit installations
APPROVALS: • CE Marked, PED 2014/68/EU • Designed, manufactured and tested in ISO 9001:2015 certified facilities • UL Listed - detection tube as a Heat-Automatic Fire Detector component (S36434)
