Kitchen appliances are one of the most common causes of fires. With the devastating impact of fire posing a serious threat to lives and assets, Reacton's kitchen appliance fire suppression system removes this worry for developers and operators. The system is designed to activate automatically, preventing property damage and protecting people and investments, and requires no external power source to detect or activate. It is easily fitted to new or existing appliances, protecting them the first time, every time.
Note: this Reacton system protects an individual cooking appliance (such as a fryer) at the point of use - it is a different product from a kitchen extraction hood/duct suppression system covering the whole cooking line, which Arcofire also offers separately.
APPLICATIONS AND RISK AREAS: • Cooking and vegetable oils - very difficult to tackle, spreads fire rapidly • Cooking and vegetable fats - very difficult to tackle, spreads fire rapidly • Deep fat frying - can quickly become uncontrolled and start a fire • Build-up of grease - easily ignites and spreads rapidly
HOW THE REACTON SYSTEM WORKS: The detection tube is installed in and around the fire risk within the protected appliance. When a fire occurs, the tubing bursts at the point of highest heat, causing a loss of pressure that activates the system. A Class F wet chemical agent is discharged rapidly to the seat of the fire, creating a blanket effect and forming a thick crust to tackle oil and fat fires and prevent reignition. Detection, activation and suppression occur within seconds, allowing a simple clean-up before the system is returned to full working order. A pressure switch and manual actuator can be added for equipment shutdown and manual intervention.
ADVANTAGES OF A REACTON SYSTEM: • Fully automatic - detects and activates without any external power source • Rapid detection and immediate agent delivery, typically in under 10 seconds • 24/7 protection with zero false alarms • Extremely low maintenance • 10-year service life, 3-year warranty on all parts • Compact and lightweight, simple to install • Suitable for both new-build (OEM) and retrofit installations
APPROVALS: • UL2166 Listed - world's first listing for DLP Clean Agent Technology, complementing the existing ILP listing • UL Listed - detection tube as a Heat-Automatic Fire Detector component (S36434)
